Barclays What he said: “I’ve got an invitation to speak in public about our company’s diversity strategy, but the audience doesn’t have much interest in big corporate organisations like mine”
What we did: We worked together on the speech, his presence and impact. With Fiona’s help, the Diversity Manager found the passion and the human story behind the corporate initiative. He isolated what was unique, funny and extraordinary about what was done. He talked from personal experience, avoided giving the usual corporate line and took a few risks.
What happened next: The speech went down a storm. The Diversity Manager was invited to join the Board of the organisation sponsoring the event. More invitations followed, his external reputation grew.
